| May 28th – May 31st 2010 |
National Rally; Newark Show ground, Newark Nottinghamshire |
| Don’t forget to pack your “western clothes” as you will need them for the banner parade, as well as for the Party night. |
 |
Our theme for party night is "Gold Rush", so don't forget to dress for the occasion - cowboy/girl, bandit, prospector etc. |
| We have offered to run a Partner dance lesson like last year, (we are waiting for Gwen Loft & her team to get back to us). We now have our own microphone, so hearing instructions shouldn't be a problem. If this goes ahead, your teachers will be Ruth & Bryan Parkin. |
We plan on decorating our table with a “landscape” of river, hills and of course shanty towns. So if you are in the slightest bit artistic we would be glad of help. |

Please ask to camp with the Country & Western Group when booking |
We are entering the group competition at the national this year, prove we exist! Some of our members have agreed to do some of the items- A big thank you to them. I am looking for volunteers to make the rest. You do not have to attend the rally, just get the bits to me in plenty of time.
GROUP ENTRY (1) THEMED – GOLDEN JUBILEE
1) Decorated Cake. (Mick Boyce)
2) Bowl of flowers - made from self-hardening clay (Gwen Farler)
3) Hand made card (Lesley)
4) Gift (Lesley)
5) Three Florentines on a plate
6) Hand made snail (Geoff Ingham)
7) Stained Glass 6" Circle
8) Painting (John Rickard)
The eight items to be displayed on an "AREA" of 2ft x 2ft x 2ft (Open 2ft cube). 2ft is the base area and you may use it any way round to suit your display. Back walls or sides at your discretion, but you must not exceed 2ft high, wide or deep. It will be measured by the judges. Points will be lost for oversized displays. Items must not have been used in any previous Homecraft Competition. If you are good at window dressing, all this stuff will need to be elegantly displayed to catch the judges attention.
If you would like to submit a solo entry, please let me know. We get points for each entry, and more points for coming 1st, 2nd or 3rd. The group with the most points wins a trophy for the year. This includes the driving competition, dog show, quiz etc.
