2) We still have vacancies for rally officers for the North of the Country/Scotland and the West of the Country/Wales. All we ask them to do is to research 3 venues per year (which can be done at your own rally venues) and pass all the information to Lesley.

3) The National Rally 2010 is at Newark Showground 27th May to 1st June. It is the 50th Anniversary celebration of the MCC.

Our Party night Theme is GOLD RUSH, so if you have any ideas, please contact us to let us know.

There is a follow on rally in Nottinghamshire/lincolnshire, run by the Lincoln County Cattle Company. £15 per person all weekend. Lots of artists, competitions, including fast draw. Children under 16 free of charge. Then follow on to The Midsummer Escape 18th to 20th June to be run by Warners (MMM mag). It will be at Prestwold hall, near Loughborough. The MCC will have their own exclusive rally area. We will be the only club to have this priviledge. The cost of the show for MCC members is as follows pre-booked £38 un-booked £58. (Normal prices will be £48 pre-booked; un-booked £58.) If you can help Lesley on the recruitment stand please let her know. We are planning on having CD's of our artistes playing, and for recruiters to be dressed "western" if possible, although it is not compulsory.

Kelso Country Music Festival boasts many well known artistes; fast draw competitions; line dance lessons; chuck wagon; licensed bar (Western prices). Indoor Venue, disabled friendly. Children under 5 free; We are currently negotiating a group booking price; but as a guide the prices 2010 are camping £15 plus an adult weekend ticket is £40.00; 2 day ticket £30.00; 5-15year old weekend ticket £15.00; 2 day ticket £12.00.

8) The world-wide emergency number from a mobile phone is 112. This can even be dialled if your phone is "locked". The phone will search for the nearest network.

Have you locked your keys in the van? - Does your van/car have a remote keyless entry? If you have locked your keys in the van and your spare keys are at home, call someone at home on their mobile phone number from your mobile phone. Hold your phone about a foot from the van/car door and have the person at home press the unlock button, holding it near the phone on their end. Your van/car will unlock. Saves someone driving your keys to you.

Flat mobile phone? Need to make an urgent/emergency call? You have a hidden reserve within your mobile battery. To activate, press keys *3370#. Your mobile will restart and show a 50% increase in battery. This reserve will get charged when you charge your phone next time.

Disable a stolen mobile phone. First store your mobile phones unique handset number. To access this key in the following digits on your mobile phone. *#06# A 15 digit serial number will appear on the screen. Write it down and keep it somewhere safe. If your phone gets stolen, you can phone your mobile service provider and give them this code. They will then block your handset, so that even if the thief changes the sim card your phone will be totally useless. It cannot be used or sold.

ATM pin number reversal. - If you should ever be forced to withdraw money from an ATM machine, you can notify the police by entering your PIN in reverse. For example; if your pin number is 1234 then you would put in 4321. The ATM system recognises that your number is backwards. It will still pay out the requested amount, but unknown to the robber, the police will be immediately dispatched to the location. ( not a good idea if your number is 3663 for example)!
